What is Dermaplaning treatment?

What to know more about how to get smooth skin? And googling methods of facial hair removal? derma-planing is a manual exfoliation of the top layers of the skin. It is a bit like a physical peel of the skin, performed with a surgical scalpel. It only removes a few microns of depth to exfoliate and does not go any deeper than the top layer of the skin (known as the epidermis, it is extremely safe and does not hurt, it just feels a little like firm pressure against the skin. The scalpel blades are laser cut so extremely sharp and straight, as a result, they create minimal surface irritation to the skin and can shave more evenly and consistently to create a much smoother surface.  they tend not to irritate the follicles so practically zero risks of folliculitis or reaction in the pores. Derma-planing is more to aid exfoliation of the skin. the sterile blade is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently “shave off” dead skin cells from the epidermis. Derma-planing also temporarily removes the fine vellus hair of the face leaving a very smooth surface, as with any type of exfoliation, the removal of dead skin cells allows home care products to be more effective, reduces the appearance of fine lines, evens skin tone, and assists in reducing milia, and minor breakouts associated with congested pores Since derma-planing exfoliates the debris from the surface of the skin, it can help unblock pores and allow other treatments (such as retinoids) to be more effective in acne as they can penetrate the skin more easily.

What are the side effects of dermaplaning?

There should not be any side effects of dermaplaning, just a little redness after the treatment. infection and scarring is very rare. People with acne sometimes can develop a little crusting around active areas for about 24 hours afterwards but it always settles down.

Aftercare consists of serums – when the skin is stripped back by the procedure, it allows much better penetration of active skincare products deep into the skin, such as vitamin C and hyaluronic acid.

Does your hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?

‘Hair growth continues as normal after the treatment. This is because the blade used is extremely sharp and straight, unlike a razor. The hairs just continue their normal growth and do not grow back any thicker or darker as the follicle is not affected whatsoever. Darker, thicker hairs are caused by hormonal changes, not exfoliation of the skin.
